Mental Health Therapist in Bastrop, TX
I Help Kids, Teens, and Adults Struggling with Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma in Bastrop and Surrounding Areas
Welcome to Jordan Ranson Therapy, a counseling practice dedicated to supporting teens and adults across Central Texas on a journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. My work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to explore thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.
I offer both traditional mental health therapy and equine-assisted psychotherapy, providing clients with unique and meaningful ways to connect, process, and heal. Through in-person equine-assisted sessions, clients have the opportunity to engage with horses in a therapeutic setting - building awareness, trust, and emotional insight through these powerful, experiential interactions. For those who prefer or need flexibility, I also offer Telehealth sessions, ensuring accessible and consistent care.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship challenges, I am here to walk alongside you.
I empower clients to explore their thoughts and emotions and deepen connection with self and others to build self-awareness in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space.
Are You Experiencing Any of the Following?
You don’t have to navigate things alone. Many of the clients I work with come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what’s going on - but ready for change. You might recognize yourself in some of the experiences below:
Persistent feelings of sadness, emptiness, or depression
Ongoing anxiety, worry, or panic
Effects of past trauma that still impact your daily life
Attachment or relationship challenges, including fear of closeness or abandonment
Difficulty trusting others or feeling secure in relationships
Patters of people-pleasing or trouble setting boundaries
Feeling emotionally disconnected, numb, or overwhelmed
Struggles with self-worth or identity
Challenges managing stress, life transitions, or uncertainty
If any of these resonate with you, therapy can be a space to better understand what you’re going through and begin to create meaningful change.
What is Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy is a research-based approach to therapy that involves working with horses to support emotional growth and healing. Sessions take place on the ground and focus on guided interactions that build awareness, connection, and insight.
Horses are highly intuitive and respond honestly to human emotions and body language. This creates opportunities to better understand yourself, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier patterns in relationships.
I use the Natural Lifemanship model, a trauma-informed approach that is rooted in neuroscience and attachment theory, and emphasizes connection as the foundation for healing.
